Shyamala Arani Purushotham, MD, FACP, CPHQ, is a board-certified internal medicine physician, a member of the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association. She serves patients at Passion Health Primary Care in Irving and Plano, Texas.
Dr. Arani completed her residency at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. After practicing internal medicine for three years following residency, Dr. Arani strongly believes that most hospitalizations are a consequence of a lack of affordable, compassionate, and comprehensive primary care. She is passionate about providing the best possible care by connecting with each of her patients.
Dr. Arani strongly believes in Sir William Osler’s quote, “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease”.
Dr. Arani was born and raised in India. She graduated from Sri Venkateswara Medical College. She moved to the United States in 2012 after completing medical school in India. Outside of her practice, she spends her time making memories with her family, reading, and doing yoga.
