Dr. Praveena Sunkara, MD, ABOM, FACP is a board-certified internist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She provides patient-centered care focused on improving long-term health and quality of life.

She has expertise in managing unhealthy weight, hypertension, diabetes, depression and anxiety support, LGBTQ health, and knee pain through steroid joint injections. She completed residency training at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, earned her MD from Saba University School of Medicine, and holds a Master’s degree from Texas Tech University.

Dr. Sunkara works closely with patients to create personalized action plans that support sustainable wellness, trust, and open communication at every step.
