Unexplained weight gain
Gaining weight without changing much? A clinician looks for medical causes such as thyroid, medicines, sleep or mood, then plans next steps.
A physician-led program: a medical evaluation, FDA-approved medicines first when medicine is appropriate, dietitian and coach check-ins, and body composition tracking.
Yes. A physician-led program: a medical evaluation, FDA-approved medicines first when medicine is appropriate, dietitian and coach check-ins, and body composition tracking. WeightCare is Passion Health's physician-led weight program for adults in Texas: an online intake, a video visit with a clinician, labs if needed and medication when appropriate, with FDA-approved medicines as the first choice. WeightCare Direct is $387 for the first 3 months, charged once after a clinician accepts you and you sign the program agreement, then $129 a month until you cancel; you can cancel any time in the PHi portal or by calling 214-666-6259, and cancelling stops the next charge. Insured patients' visits and labs bill their plan. Medication is filled and paid at your pharmacy and is never guaranteed.

Medical weight loss is care for obesity led by a clinician, combining nutrition, activity, sleep and, when appropriate, FDA-approved medicine. Obesity is a chronic disease shaped by genes, hormones, sleep, stress, medicines and environment — not willpower alone. It raises the risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and fatty liver disease.
Not near one of our clinics? Online Care is open to adults anywhere in Texas; our clinics are in Dallas–Fort Worth. If the safety questions or your clinician show you need to be examined, we tell you what kind of care you need and how soon — an emergency room, an urgent care center, or a clinician near you. If you've already paid, the full fee is refunded and you get a written summary of your visit to take with you.
Also call 911 for chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke signs, a sudden severe headache, fainting, a seizure, severe bleeding, new confusion, throat swelling, an overdose or thoughts of harming someone else — and call or text 988 for thoughts of harming yourself. Nothing is charged until a clinician accepts you and you sign the program agreement.
Height, weight, related conditions and history.
Evaluation, labs if needed, and whether medication is appropriate.
The WeightCare team sends your agreement and sets up billing before anything is charged.
Coaching, body composition tracking and regular clinician check-ins.
Shown so you know what to expect. The reviewing clinician decides what, if anything, is appropriate for you — a prescription is never guaranteed, and controlled medicines are never prescribed online.
Using insurance: we're in network with BCBS of Texas, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Humana and Healthcare Highways, and we verify eligibility for every plan before review — you see your estimated cost-share first. New patients have a short video visit, because plans pay for a visit, not a form. Same-day review applies to self-pay visits; insurance visits begin once we've verified your plan, which is the next business morning if you submit overnight or on a weekend. Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP and TRICARE are billed to the program, and the cash rate isn't offered for covered services.
Nothing is charged until you're accepted: billing is set up only after a clinician accepts you into the program and you sign the program agreement. The $387 is charged once, for the first 3 months; from month 4, WeightCare Direct renews automatically at $129 a month until you cancel. You can cancel any time by message in the PHi portal or by calling 214-666-6259; cancellation takes effect before your next billing date. If you cancel within 3 days of the first charge, the $387 is refunded in full; after that, the 3-month fee isn't refunded, and no further monthly charges are made. If a clinician withdraws you from the program for medical reasons, unused whole months are refunded. The program agreement you sign before anything is charged repeats these terms. If the clinician doesn't accept your case for online care, nothing is charged and we help you book a clinic visit, or, if you're not near one of our clinics, tell you where to be seen near you.
Labs and imaging, if needed, are billed separately, and medication is paid at your pharmacy. Passion Health doesn't sell, ship or mark up medication.

WeightCare Direct (uninsured or out-of-network): $387 for the first 3 months, then $129/month for coaching, curriculum, tracking and body composition. Insured patients: clinician visits and labs bill your plan, with an optional $59/month wellness bundle never billed to insurance. Medication is filled and paid at your pharmacy.

No. You're paying for a licensed clinician's evaluation and plan. Many visits end with a prescription; some end with a different plan, a test, or a referral. Controlled medicines — stimulants, benzodiazepines, opioids, testosterone, sleep aids like zolpidem — are never prescribed at an online visit.
Our clinicians prescribe FDA-approved medicines. Compounded versions are not FDA-approved and are not the same as the brand-name products. Passion Health does not sell or ship medication — prescriptions go to the pharmacy you choose, which bills you directly.
Medicine may be considered if your BMI is 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, prediabetes or diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, or PCOS. Your clinician also reviews your history, other medicines and goals, and medicine is always paired with nutrition and activity support.
It depends on your plan. Many plans limit or exclude anti-obesity medicines, so coverage can't be promised. If you're insured, clinician visits and labs bill your plan. The medicine itself is filled and paid at your pharmacy, under your plan's pharmacy benefit if it is covered.
No. Phentermine (Adipex-P, Lomaira) and phentermine-topiramate (Qsymia) are controlled substances, and Passion Health never prescribes controlled medicines at an online visit. WeightCare uses non-controlled medicines, FDA-approved ones first, when they're appropriate for you.
WeightCare Direct and the optional $59-a-month wellness bundle aren't offered to people with Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP or TRICARE, so you won't be charged either fee. You can still get medical weight care at Passion Health: clinician visits, labs and other services your program covers are billed to your program under its usual rules. Coverage of weight-loss medicines under these programs is limited and changing; your pharmacy can tell you your cost, and coverage can't be promised.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation are common, especially when you start or raise the dose, and usually ease with time. Less often, these medicines can cause pancreatitis or gallbladder problems. Go to an emergency room for severe belly pain that spreads to your back, vomiting that won't stop, or signs of dehydration such as dizziness or passing very little urine. Tell any surgeon, dentist or anesthesia team that you take a GLP-1 medicine before a procedure with sedation. If you're planning a pregnancy, tell your clinician: some of these medicines need to be stopped at least 2 months before you try to conceive. Tirzepatide (Zepbound) can make birth control pills less reliable for a few weeks after you start and after each dose increase, so your clinician may suggest a backup method. Weight often comes back if the medicine is stopped, so your plan covers what happens next.
Yes, when it's appropriate for you. In WeightCare, a Passion Health clinician evaluates you by video, orders labs if needed, and prescribes FDA-approved medication such as semaglutide or tirzepatide only if you qualify and your clinician judges it appropriate for you, after reviewing your history, other medicines and risks. Medication is filled and paid at your pharmacy, and a prescription is never guaranteed.
A clinician may form a valid patient relationship online using store-and-forward technology — your condition-specific intake, photos and records — paired with a call or video when needed, as long as the in-person standard of care is met (Tex. Occ. Code §111.005(a)(3), §111.007). Your clinician gives you guidance on follow-up care and, with your consent, sends new patients' visit notes to their primary care physician within 72 hours (§111.005(b)).
