Shyamala Arani Purushotham, MD, FACP, CPHQ, is a board-certified internal medicine physician, a member of the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association. She serves patients at Dr. Arani’s Passion Health Primary Care in Irving and Plano, Texas.

Dr. Arani completed her residency at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. After practicing internal medicine for three years after residency, Dr. Arani strongly believes that most of the hospitalizations are the consequences of a lack of affordable, compassionate, comprehensive primary care. She is passionate about providing the best possible care by connecting with each one of her patients.

Dr. Arani strongly believes in Sir William Osler’s quote “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease”.

Dr. Arani was born and raised in India, she graduated from Sri Venkateswara Medical College. She moved to the United States in 2012 after completing medical school in India. Outside of her practice, she spends her time making memories with her family, reading, and doing yoga.

Pooja Naik, MD

Primary Care & Internal Medicine
Pooja Naik, MD, is a skilled internal medicine physician at Passion Health Primary Care in Frisco, Texas. Dedicated to her work, Dr. Naik takes a patient-centered approach to serve individuals and families in the community. She has a passion for medicine and prioritizes developing her skills as an internist.

Dr. Naik began her education at The University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Science in nutrition. Following this, she served as a lab technician at Pediatric Associates of Austin in Austin, Texas. This led her to pursue a Master of Science in medical science at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

Shortly after this, Dr. Naik went on to achieve her Doctor of Medicine at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. She later completed her internal medicine residency at the CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas.

Before joining the Passion Health Primary Care team, Dr. Naik served at the Portland Clinic, where she treated patients with hypertension, diabetes, depression, and anxiety. She currently holds memberships with the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

Outside of the office, Dr. Naik enjoys fitness, cooking, drawing, traveling, and collecting travel spoons. She’s also bilingual in English and Marathi. She looks forward to creating positive relationships with her patients at Passion Health Primary Care and working alongside the team.

Raju Raghunath, MD

Primary Care Physician
Raju Raghunath is a diligent and reputable primary care physician in Irving, TX. Dr. Raghunath obtained his medical degree from Thanjavur Medical College. He completed his residency in family medicine at the Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth.

Dr. Raghunath is deeply committed to the well-being of his patients. He takes a thorough and precise approach to his consultations to ensure that he is consistently giving accurate diagnoses.

Before joining the Passion Health Primary Care team, Dr. Raghunath served as a Primary Care Physician in Irving, where he treated patients with hypertension, diabetes, depression, anxiety, and many other diseases.

Dr. Raghunath enjoys traveling, grilling, and watching football with his adorable kids.

Dr. Shanthini Kuduva Rajan

She is currently enriching her expertise and knowledge through a Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, showcasing her unwavering commitment to medical excellence.

Garrett O. Smith Jr., PAC

Garrett graduated from the Southwestern Medical PA program in Dallas in August 1979. Passed his national boards in October 1979 and began his career as a Physician Assistant. He spent next 36 years practicing Adult and Pediatric Nephrology in Texas, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee. He was honored by his peers in March 2017 as a Distinguished Fellow. He has spent the last seven years practicing Family Medicine/Primary Care and Internal Medicine. He joined Dr. Mark Hughes in July 2021 and is continuing his medical journey in Seven Points Texas.

Sydney Pareti, PAC

Sydney Pareti is a board certified Physician Assistant with a passion for providing healthcare to her patients.

Sydney completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Arkansas. Inspired by her love for science and her desire to make a difference, she pursued a Master of Science in Medicine with emphasis on Physician Assistant Studies at Mississippi College. During her training, she excelled in both clinical knowledge and hands-on patient care, earning her certification as a Physician Assistant and achieving the Academic Excellence award.

Before joining Passion Health, Sydney began her career at Children’s Hospital in Dallas, TX, where she gained experience in the intensive care unit. Her background has allowed her to develop a comprehensive understanding of different medical specialties, enabling her to provide well-rounded and personalized care to her patients.

In her free time Sydney enjoys running half marathons, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her husband and golden doodle, Honey.

Dr. Praveena Sunkara

Dr. Praveena Sunkara, a board-certified internist with a specialization in Obesity Medicine, is esteemed as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). She is dedicated to addressing the challenges of unhealthy weight and its associated health concerns.

Dr. Megan Philkhana

Dr. Philkhana pursued her medical education through a combined pre-med and medical school program at the American University of Antigua. After completing a Family Medicine residency at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, she embarked on a career that included roles at Baylor Scott and White, as well as a fulfilling stint with the Indian Health Services.

Beyond the medical realm her passions include exploring new cultures through travel( with a goal of visiting two new countries each year), finding serenity in hiking, reading, and volunteering at a charity clinic.

Excited about her new position, Dr. Philkhana is committed to encouraging patients to play an active role in their healthcare decisions, with a central focus on preventative care to positively influence overall well-being.

Dr. Rinu Sharon Varghese, MD
